From the magnificent Potala Palace in Lhasa to the holy Mount Kailash, the region offers a unique blend of culture, history, and breathtaking landscapes. Visitors can immerse themselves in Tibetan Buddhist traditions, visit ancient monasteries, and capture the vast Himalayan range in their photography. While Tibet’s infrastructure is developing, it remains one of the most remote and unspoiled destinations in the world, perfect for adventurous travelers.

GETTING THERE
Arrive at Lhasa Gonggar Airport in Tibet. It is recommended to arrive at least 3 days before you start to travel around Tibet to acclimatize to the high altitude and ensure you are well-rested for the journey ahead.

VISA
To enter Tibet, you will need a Chinese visa and a special Tibet Travel Permit. The Tibet permit can only be arranged through a registered tour operator. For up-to-date information on visa requirements, please visit your nearest Chinese embassy or consulate.

WEATHER
Tibet’s weather varies depending on the season and altitude. From May to October, the weather is relatively mild, with clear skies, making it an ideal time for photography. Winter months from November to April are cold, particularly in higher-altitude areas, but offer spectacular views of snow-covered landscapes.

Expect temperatures to range from:

  • Min: 5°C (41°F)
  • Max: 20°C (68°F)

Due to Tibet’s high elevation, it’s important to pack for cold nights, even during warmer months.
