If you want to catch a little fish, you can stay in the shallow water. But if you want to catch a big fish, you’ve got to go deeper. Deep down, the fishes are more powerful and purer.
Sometimes we need to be pushed into the unknown and out of our comfort zone to take amazing pictures. And Steve McCurry can give us that needed and gently creative kick. With his deep field passion and talent for absolute stunning portrait photography, we will learn how to catch whales.
Get out of your comfort zone and learn from the man who makes history every time he pulls the trigger, the one and only Steve McCurry.

For those who arrive one or a few days before the workshop starts, we offer a Free City Tour of Bangkok (10 am – 4 pm), a great way to explore the city and prepare for the upcoming workshop.
Visit Amphawa floating market on private boats to fully take in the atmosphere and be as close to the action as possible. The canal is occupied by vendors and their boats, which are packed with sweet and savory food and drinks.
Behind the scenes of Bangkok’s most important sights – we visit Buddhist temples to capture the unique architecture, Buddhist monks and worshippers.
Dive into the tradition of Thai boxing, the national sport of Thailand – we will visit some of the Thai boxing camps around Bangkok to document the fighters during their training and practice sessions.
Explore Chinatown, a traditional district of Bangkok, through the lens and capture the stunning temples, exotic street food and everyday street scenes with the mix of Chinese and Thai cultures.
Start the day early to catch the morning commute at Bangkok’s main railway station. The daily bustle will keep us occupied for a couple of hours before heading to Lumphini Park.
Visit the small workshops where skilled local craftsmen work on Buddha statues and carvings.
Discover Chatuchak Market, the world’s largest weekend market, which offers endless opportunities for capturing the daily life of the locals and taking unique portraits.

“What I will definitely remember from that workshop is the opportunity to learn a lot about how to get people look their best, whether this is a matter of light, or the situation we put them in. Under the leadership of Steve McCurry, getting to work together with the master, the landscape, the situation here, the people we met…. That’s just amazing!”
